We all suffer with discontent from time to time, but some of us (or someone we love) struggles with something far more debilitating. It is a sinister foe that robs us of our joy and peace of mind. I call it Perpetual Discontent. It is a negative trait, a habit, or in the mind of my husband, an illness he has labeled PD. I realize it's a choice to stay here but also financially moving is not something I'm able to do. I've created a beautiful life here for the farm I live on. And I choose to stay here because I've always loved it. But after 40 years I know I don't love any of these people. I tried!! I'm going to listen to more of your podcasts thank you for being inspirational!

I have perpetual discontentment because I am perpetually surrounded by assholes because I live in Alabama. I love the land so much but I hate Southerners. I always thought it was the Bible belt and everybody would love each other as their neighbor but every time I step outside I realize that I'm surrounded by uneducated people who only care about themselves
